Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the ig tools downloader processes information when you use it.
Links and temporary metadata
The public Instagram link you submit is sent to our server and used to request information from Instagram. Media metadata and signed download links are held temporarily in server memory, normally for up to one minute. Expired entries are removed during subsequent requests or when the process restarts. We do not maintain a permanent download history or store the media files.
Direct media requests
Your browser connects directly to Instagram or Meta’s CDN to display previews and open downloads. Those services receive your IP address and browser request information. Their privacy policies apply to those connections. No cross-site credentials are requested by ig tools.
Operational data
We record request timing, success or failure, error categories, media counts and download clicks to understand reliability. These application logs do not include submitted URLs, media links or raw IP addresses. A click does not tell us whether a file was saved. Our deployment configuration rotates application logs rather than storing them indefinitely.
To limit abuse, the server temporarily groups requests using a salted hash of the client IP address. These counters are held in memory, expire after a minute, and use a new salt when the process restarts. Hosting and network providers may process connection information under their own policies.
Cookies and local storage
ig tools does not set tracking cookies, use third-party analytics or save your download history in local storage. The URL and current results remain in the page state until you change them or leave the page.
