IG Tools does not upscale or re-encode videos. It saves an MP4 version made available by Instagram and reports the resolution when it can be verified.
Video quality and sound
Available resolution depends on the file Instagram returns for that post. We do not invent 1080p or 4K options when the source does not provide them.
A video can be silent when Instagram serves a version without an audio track, including when music licensing varies by region. Refreshing the link may return a different available version, but audio cannot be guaranteed for every Reel.
Direct browser downloads
Your browser fetches the selected file directly from Instagram or Meta’s CDN. IG Tools does not normally relay, convert or store the video on its server.
Signed media links are temporary. If a preview or download expires, use Refresh links before trying again.
When an Instagram video has no sound
The audio check describes the MP4 your browser saved, not whether a Reel’s preview happened to play sound. If the downloaded file is silent, the version Instagram provided did not include a usable audio track.
Try Refresh links once to request a current media URL. If it remains silent, IG Tools cannot safely add a separate track or bypass music licensing; use the available source version instead.

Yes, when Instagram provides a progressive MP4 for a public post. IG Tools does not convert DASH-only tracks or manufacture a new file.
Will the downloaded Instagram video include sound?
It includes sound when the MP4 supplied by Instagram contains an audio track. Music licensing and Instagram’s delivery rules can cause some available versions to be silent.
Can I download private Instagram videos?
No. IG Tools only processes posts that Instagram makes publicly accessible without an account login.
Does IG Tools add a watermark?
No. IG Tools does not edit the video or add branding. Any watermark already present in the uploaded video remains part of that file.
Why did my Instagram video link stop working?
Instagram CDN links expire. Select Refresh links to resolve the post again, or copy a fresh public post URL from Instagram.
