PFP, profile photo and DP dimensions
Instagram profile pictures are commonly square, but the available source dimensions vary by account and response. The downloader shows verified dimensions when they are present.
A profile picture that looks blurry may be a small version returned by Instagram. ig.tools can only save the largest public URL Instagram exposes; it cannot recover pixels that were never provided.
HD avatar links and image quality
The tool checks the profile page and its public user data for HD profile picture versions before falling back to a smaller public image. It does not crop, sharpen or recompress the result.
The saved file comes from Instagram or Meta’s CDN. The original camera file uploaded by the account owner is not necessarily public or available through the profile picture URL.
Privacy, screenshots and notifications
