How to Download Instagram Stories
Enter a username or copy a Story link
Use @username to view an account’s current public Stories. For one item, open the Story on Instagram and copy its link from the sharing menu when available.
Find the current Stories
Paste your input above and select Download. A link with a Story ID requests that item; a username or /stories/username/ link requests currently available Stories.
Preview and download
Use a photo or video’s download icon to save it. When several items are available, select the ones you want and download them together as a ZIP.
Save only Stories that are currently available
Stories are temporary. ig.tools can show only media Instagram currently makes available from a public account; it cannot recover expired or private Stories.
One Story or current Stories from a public profile
instagram.com/stories/username/STORY_ID/ targets one Story. instagram.com/stories/username/, @username or a public profile URL opens the account’s currently available Stories. An old single-Story link is not replaced with a different Story when its item is unavailable.
Save photos and videos individually, or select several for a ZIP. Extract that ZIP in your device’s Files app to access its contents. ZIP creation has a 128 MB limit; if items cannot be included, save those individually.
No active Stories, expired Stories and Highlights
Stories usually leave the active Story feed after 24 hours, and the creator can delete them sooner. No currently available public Stories means there are no items to show now; it does not mean the account has never posted Stories.
A Story saved as a Highlight may remain on the profile after it leaves the active feed. Use the Highlights viewer for saved collections. ig.tools cannot restore an expired item from an old Story link or show private and Close Friends Stories.
Instagram Story Not Available? Check Expiry, Access and DownloadsWhen a current Story will not open or download
If the Story is still visible on Instagram, copy its current link and check the username. Public content can sometimes be temporarily unavailable to the tool. If Instagram itself no longer shows the item, repeated retries cannot recover it.
If the preview appeared but its photo or video stopped loading, resolve the link again once. The Story may still be active while its download link has expired. Keep the page open during saving and check your connection and free storage.

Story videos are saved as the available MP4; photos keep the source image format. On iPhone, check Files → Downloads. Open a compatible file and use Share → Save Video or Save Image when offered to add it to Photos.
On Android, check Downloads in your browser or file manager. Resolution and sound depend on the file Instagram provides. ig.tools does not upscale media or add missing audio.

Can I download every current Story from one profile?
A public profile Stories link can list its currently available public items in order. You can select individual files or use the batch download control.
Can I download an expired or private Story?
No. Expired, deleted, private and Close Friends Stories are not supported, even if an old link still exists.
Do I need to sign in or provide my Instagram password?
No. Visitors do not sign in to ig.tools or provide Instagram credentials. Access to public Stories can still depend on Instagram’s current availability.
What does no currently available public Stories mean?
There are no active public Story items available to show at the time of the request. Stories may have expired, been removed or no longer be public. Check later for new Stories; saved collections belong in the Highlights viewer.
Can I save several Stories as a ZIP?
Yes, when multiple items are available. Select the Stories you want and use the batch download control. The ZIP is made in your browser with a 128 MB limit; download remaining items individually if needed.
Why is a Story video silent or unavailable?
Instagram may serve a video without an audio track, or limit access temporarily. Refresh the link once; ig.tools cannot add missing audio or recover expired content.
How do I save a Story on iPhone?
After resolving the Story, use Download. If Safari opens the file instead, use Share to save it to Photos or Files when that option is available.
