How to Save Instagram Reels on iPhone
Saving on iPhone can look different from saving on desktop. Safari may download the MP4, open it in a new tab or present a Share menu depending on the file and iOS version.

Copy and resolve a public Reel
In Instagram, open a public Reel, use Share and copy its link. Paste it into the Instagram Reels Downloader in Safari, wait for the media card, then use its download icon.
Keep the page open until saving starts. A large video can take longer to fetch than a still photo, especially on a mobile connection.
Find the saved MP4
Check Safari's Downloads list and the Downloads folder in the Files app. If Safari opens the source video instead of saving it, use the Share button and choose Save Video or Save to Files when offered.
The exact menu labels vary by iOS and browser. If no save option appears, opening the original file from the media preview lets iOS handle the source URL directly.
When saving does not start
Allow downloads for the browser, check available storage and avoid closing the tab immediately. If the preview works but the save fails later, the temporary CDN link may have expired; return to the downloader and choose Refresh links.
Only publicly available Reels can be processed. An expired, private or restricted Reel is not made accessible by switching browsers.
On iPhone, check both Safari Downloads and Files; when a video opens instead of saving, use the system Share menu.
